What is Chet Speedstar?
Chet Speedstar is an independent short film written and directed by Miles Kietzer. Filmed on location in Madison, Wisconsin, the film comedically explores the consequences of aimless rebellion in a city saturated with beer, bicycles, and fine dining. The film is currently in post-production and will be released in late 2018.How can I help?
Chet Speedstar has thus far been supported mostly by volunteer work and generous donations from the community. However, several production costs were paid out of pocket. If you want to support the project, please click the “donate” button below. Your contribution will go towards creating promotional materials for the film, speeding up the post-production process, and recouping some of the overhead production costs. About the creators
Miles Kietzer is a filmmaker currently living and working in Madison, Wisconsin. As a UW-Madison student, Miles wrote and directed the short film Don't Consider the Lobster and assisted with several other student film projects. A talented amateur chef, Miles' experiences working in the culinary world inspired him to write Chet Speedstar. When he is not behind the camera, Miles can often be found breaking hearts on basketball courts throughout the city. | Miles Kietzer Writer/Director |
Originally from Madison, cinematographer Sydney Bertun now lives in Minneapolis and works in television production. Her debut film project, a short documentary titled Understand Your Man, was released earlier this year. Abner Jacobson recently moved from Madison to Los Angeles to pursue a career in writing and video editing. He has collaborated with Miles on several projects in the past, including Oxy Soar, Xercus Era: The Hidden Life of Trees, Happy Holidays, and Lord of the Rings. In contrast to Miles' appreciation of high-quality cuisine, Abner has been quoted as saying he only eats for sustenance. |
